The Boise Blast is the "Premier" A.S.A.
Girl's Fastpitch softball organization in the Treasure Valley and has developed
a reputation in Idaho second to none. The Blast organization is represented with
teams competing at the U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18 age levels. The teams are
comprised of gifted student athletes from across the valley who excel
in their efforts at school as well as on the playing field. Our plans and goals
are to provide a positive experience for the players, teaching them self
confidence, self esteem, and self discipline while competing in several
tournaments around the Northwest in preparation to qualify and compete in the
national A.S.A. tournament. Formed in the fall of 1997, the BBASA, Inc. is a
501(c)3 nonprofit organization. With all the opportunities for these girls
brought about by Title IX, we hope to provide these girls with the skills needed
to take full advantage of any college scholarships available, or even the
opportunity to showcase their skills at the Olympic or professional level.
It's coaches, all volunteers, are some of the best in the game. All Boise Blast coaches are required to have a background check, and to obtain an ACE Coaching Certification. As Fastpitch grows in the Treasure Valley, it is important to keep our coaching staff current with the best techniques and strategies of the Game. Our coaches participate in clinics throughout the Northwest to learn from accomplished coaches from well respected programs such as UCLA, University of Arizona, Tennessee, Utah, University of Washington, Nevada Reno, and more. As coaches, we consider ourselves very lucky to have such a fantastic group of girls and parents.
Girl's Fastpitch is not only a great and exciting sport to watch and play, like any youth community program, it can also be looked at as the building block towards a productive future for the participating youth. Because we are a nonprofit organization, the players must provide their own financing. The accelerated program is considered a travel league and while not always traveling to out of state tournaments, those we do participate in add up very quickly in cost. We do numerous fundraisers, but are limited due to time constraints and the length of the season. Donations are tax deductible and invested into the accomplishment of our mission, which is an investment into the community and the lives if its' youth. If you would like to be a party to this mission, please contact us and find out more.
